SGA Young Gamekeeper nominations now closed

The Scottish Gamekeepers’ Association (SGA) has closed nominations for the Young Gamekeeper of the Year award 2015, and is now inviting nominations for a new award.

The Young Gamekeeper of the Year award recognises the efforts of “a young person whose management, skills and passion bring benefits to his/her industry, to Scotland’s countryside and wildlife.”

The SGA has announced that environment minister Dr Aileen McLeod will present the award at the Scottish Game Fair at Scone Palace on Friday 3 July. A series of informal interviews will now begin as the organisation works towards choosing a winner.

The association has also invited nominations for the inaugural Ronnie Rose Award, created to “honour an individual who has dedicated years of service to conservation through responsible management.” Nominations can be made via email to or by post to: Inveralmond Business Centre, 6 Auld Bond Road, South Inveralmond, Perth, H1 3FX. The deadline is 17 July.
